The kitchen is well-lit with more recessed lighting, and offers handsome oak cabinetry . . . and lots of it! Did someone say storage? This home has it!

The new owners of 3295 Dunns Mountain Road will enjoy the benefits of a split floor plan here, meaning that the Owners Suite, with its vaulted ceiling, private bath and walk-in closet. . . . is secluded from the other household rooms.

The Split Floor Plan

"Home design plans can often times be split into two categories according to how the architect treats the layout of the bedrooms. In traditional home design plans, the master bedroom is in the same area of the house as the other bedrooms. In newer split bedroom house plans, the master suite is separated from the other sleeping areas.

3295 Dunns Mountain Road features the split floor plan layout, offering five key advantages:

♦ Privacy

Split bedroom house plans provide more privacy in the master bedroom. Located away from the heavier traffic of the main rooms, like the kitchen and living room, the master suite is also separated from the guest or children’s bedrooms.

♦ Peace

More privacy in the split bedroom house plan means less noise traveling between rooms. If you like to sleep late but [the kids have] to get up early for school, it's much easier for you to enjoy peace and quiet with this home design plan.

♦ Space

Split bedroom house plans generally use floor space more efficiently. Hallways are not always necessary in these home design plans because a living room and kitchen can separate the two sleeping “zones.”

♦ Guests

With a split bedroom house plan, you can accommodate the privacy and varied schedules of house guests more easily. Guest rooms are typically separated from the master bedroom by the common areas, making it easy for them to go about their business without waking their hosts.

♦ Value

Don't forget to plan for the future when choosing a split bedroom house plan. These homes may offer better resale value because they can accommodate changes in lifestyle easily. Changing one of the sleeping zones to a home office or hobby room will not disrupt the ambiance of the other sleeping zone. This type of home design plan is becoming much more popular for buyers." (from Alan Mascord Design Associates Inc., 'Advantages of Choosing Split Bedroom House Plans',

A super-nice touch is the enclosed sun porch off the dining that is heated and cooled space, and includes . . . wait for it . . . a built-in hot tub!

A sweet little patio off rear of the home creates a wonderful space to enjoy the country setting, and the wonderful rocking-chair front porch is the perfect place to watch summer sunsets. The brick and vinyl-sided exterior mean low maintenance.

And we mentioned not one, but TWO, 2-car garages!

A nice touch is the laundry room nestled in between the hallway and the garage.

Two more bedrooms and another bath finish off the home!

3295 Dunns Mountain Road is neatly landscaped. . . ready for you to just move-in and start living the life you deserve. Just up the road is Dunns Mountain Park, an 83-acre mountain protected under a Conservation Easement with the Land Trust for Central North Carolina, and at an elevation of 1,004 feet (306 meters), the highest point in Rowan County, offering hiking, birding, picnicking, and awesome views!

A Community Connects| Update!

The new year was not so happy for a Salisbury, North Carolina family, whose North Main Street home was badly damaged by fire just after the holiday season.  Luckily, the family was away from the home and no one was injured . . . but the damage is severe enough to render the family homeless while insurance issues get sorted out.

The community started a Go-Fund-Me page ( to help get the family on sure footing after the fire, raising over $12,000 in just a short time span, and Greg Rapp, real estate agent with Wallace Realty in Salisbury, stepped up to the plate with a housing solution.

Greg had the beautiful brick craftsman home at 216 Mitchell Avenue in the historic Fulton Heights neighborhood listed for sale. Greg worked with the displaced family and the home owner's to arrange for a temporary lease so that the family had a secure place to live until their home in the North Main Neighborhood could be repaired.

Salisbury, North Carolina is the type of community that pulls together. To make Salisbury your home, call Realtor® Greg Rapp [704-213-6846]. Greg is the #1 real estate agent marketing historic homes and properties in Rowan County.

Once in a Lifetime circa 1875 Property ~ SOLD!!

Some opportunities come along so rarely, being in the right place at the right time, with the right Realtor®, is the only way to snatch them up!

When Greg Rapp, real estate agent with Wallace Realty in Salisbury NC, listed the approximately 17 acre riverfront property, the circa 1875 Lindsay-Tatum-Wyatt House ~ that rare opportunity was here . . . and gone like the wind!

Greg Rapp listed the centennial property along the South Yadkin River at the Rowan | Davie County line on November 25th, 2016. This fabulous property with over 1600 feet of river frontage, a beach-house, stables, and the gorgeous vintage house was on the market for just 13 days before Greg had the home under contract!

The vintage home, nestled behind a hedgerow of 100-year-old boxwoods and giant (truly giant!) magnolia trees, contains beautiful wide heart of pine floors throughout and gorgeous original mantles and woodwork. Read more about this wonderful home here: >HERE<

Retired City of Salisbury Planning Director, Joe Morris, and wife Pam, retired educator from Rowan-Salisbury School System, snatched up this once in a lifetime opportunity and say, ". . . the timing could not have been more perfect! The property was available, we were looking for a retirement home, we love historic preservation, land conservation, and river paddling ~ and the clubhouse will be perfect for entertaining our guests!"  The couple has fantastic plans for revitalizing the property to the showcase it deserves to be! The Morrises even found, after surveying, that the property was actually 18 acres, and, found an ancient spring below the observation deck while they were clearing the lower meadow-land.

After a long due diligence period,
Greg helped the Morrises finalize the sale on their new home on March 1st, 2017. Stay tuned...we are hoping for a guest blog from new owners Joe & Pam! The Morrises found even more history on the home's 'family-tree' as they researched this wonderful historic property! We're thrilled for the Morrises, and for the Linsday-Tatum-Wyatt House.

When you are looking to purchase your dream vintage home, or to sell your heirloom property with the hopes of a quick turnaround . . . Greg is the one to call! 704.213.6846!
