Circa 1915 American Bungalow with Original Details! Very Desirable Fulton Heights Neighborhood ~ $69,000

This classic American Bungalow in the very desirable Fulton Heights Neighborhood of Salisbury, North Carolina has all the elements the turn-of-the-century bungalow enthusiast is looking for! Let Wallace Realty agent Greg Rapp show you all the marvelous details in this circa 1915 American Bungalow at 221 Wiley Avenue, Salisbury, North Carolina.

This 1650+ square-foot bungalow style home, sitting high on its elevated 175' deep lot, overlooks crepe myrtle lined Wiley Avenue in Fulton Heights ~ a historic neighborhood known in Salisbury for its strong neighborhood bonds and family atmosphere.

This single-story rustic home has the classic details of the bungalow style ~ 10' ceilings, a long center hallway connecting all the elements, bedrooms to the left, living, dining, and kitchen areas to the right, and 2 large front parlors with their original masonry fireplaces intact. 9-over-1 pane windows let in tons of light.

The dining room's original 1915 details include a built-in china hutch and classic plate molding around the circumference of the room . . . and the beautiful vintage light fixture that appears to be original to the home. At some point, an owner installed another mantel piece in the dining room, with beveled mirror feature, however; a fireplace never existed in this spot and it is purely decorative.

You will love the oak hardwood floors throughout, and the functioning transom windows above the doorways, letting cooling breezes drift through the home in summer.

A particularly nice design feature is the breakfast room nestled between the kitchen and dining rooms! The kitchen has tile counter tops, lots of cupboard space ~ despite the cabinetry may need updating ~ and features its original vintage cast iron, porcelain coated sink.  And the kitchen has a separate laundry room to the back with a window that overlooks the backyard and lets the afternoon sun come streaming in.

The single full bath retains original fixtures, such as the vintage sink and, everyone's favorite, the claw-foot bathtub!

A rustic screened back porch overlooks the deep, fenced-in back yard with its very small 1-car garage, (we're calling it a 'cottage garage'!) is more suited as a shed or small workshop.

A wonderful brick patio sits behind the cottage garage, and the walkway leads you from the back porch to the common alleyway that runs behind the homes on Wiley and Mitchell Avenues ~ a great place for off-road and out-of-sight parking!

This wonderful rustic bungalow at 221 Wiley Avenue retains many of its original architectural details ~ the original and gracious wide front door with sidelights, wood screen door, dentil woodwork, beamed eaves, and cornice brackets set this Wiley Avenue home apart. A large covered and railed front porch spans the front of the home ~ a southern home's favorite and most wanted feature!

This great bungalow has a large attic you reach via a very steep staircase ~ a space that has potential for expansion to living space, and a small 500 square-foot basement reached via either a small door in the hallway or another small door at the side/rear of the home.

It is obvious that this rustic yet authentic 3-bedroom/1-bath bungalow needs some TLC and maybe a little sweat equity to restore it to its former glory.  The front porch needs attention.  The exterior wants repainting, and many of the interior rooms will want paint and perhaps a change or removal of wallpaper. Yet the home has a new roof just installed in 2012 and has a newer water heater. The stove, washer, and dryer convey with the property. This authentic bungalow with so many original features is a solid home whose rustic appearance will appeal to many! And at $65,000, in the prestigious Fulton Heights Neighborhood, it is priced to sell!

The American Bungalow remains one of the most popular home designs that has withstood the test of time! Large rooms in a single story design make it the ideal home for nearly anyone! Let licensed Realtor® Greg Rapp show you the details that set this Wiley Avenue home apart ~ and make a true rustic American Bungalow your home! Call Greg at 704.213.6846 to see this home and its wonderful features! It is a true gem waiting to be polished!

If you qualify, you do not need to repay the down payment unless you sell, refinance, or transfer the home. Even better, it is completely forgiven at year 15 and reduced by 20% a year in years 11 through 15. With 30-year, fixed rates, the N.C.
